With an aging nurse call system, our client was in need of change. Their immediate need was for a system to handle 35 rooms but once installed, expansion of this system to handle the 300+ rooms was needed. SARA was just the answer.
SARA, from Status Solutions, is a software system that monitors its own device environment while integrating with existing systems. SARA monitors devices and systems looking for an event change, and then sends alerts to key personnel.
For our client we introduced wireless pull stations and pendants for the residents, and through SARA, alarms notify nurses through pagers. Not only will the nurses be paged, but the administration will be called when critical alarms are triggered. The integration of the current nurse call system with alarms of any type to messaging of their choice keeps the client naturally adding more to the system and has reduced both response and down time.
